What is MOPS & MOMSnext?

MOPS International exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.

MOPS International’s goal is to “build circles of women who love each other like family, because raising humans is beautiful and hard, and having each other to lean on is life-giving. Connecting women to meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of being a mom” MOPS is a positive and supportive program designed to nurture expecting moms through mothers of kindergartners.

Tomoka MOPS & MOMSnext is a non-denominational group chartered through Tomoka Christian Church.

Our group meets on select Tuesdays monthly. Meetings consist of a potluck brunch, inspiring speakers on a variety of topics, occasional service projects or creative activities, and small group discussion. Children 2 months and older are lovingly cared for in our children’s program, including structured time for kids 2 years & older where they will sing songs, hear Bible stories, make crafts, eat snack, enjoy free play, and more!

You do not need to be a churchgoer or from a specific denomination to join MOPS. We welcome women from all faith and non-faith backgrounds and beliefs. The vision of MOPS is to see no mom alone. After all, we mother better together and better moms make a better world!

We’ve all been placed in this time and place in history as the tribe of women who are raising the world. Our hope is that you will find encouragement, support, relevant teaching, and friendship with other women who are in your same season of life. We are confident that as you become more involved in our group, you will be better equipped to face the challenges that come with motherhood.

A MOPS meeting offers moms an opportunity to connect with other moms. It usually includes practical teaching through a speaker, demonstration or video.

Sometimes we get a little crafty. Sometimes we join hands to serve the community. We always have fun! Nursing moms are welcome, and moms are welcome with or without preschoolers!!

We offer a quality children’s program called MOPS Kids while the moms are meeting. Children, with experienced MOPS Kids teachers, get to make crafts, hear stories, sing songs, eat snacks, make new friends and learn how much God loves them.
